Large Crater Left After the 0.6 Long Meteor

In the Democractic Republic of Congo a meteor hit the surface about 575 million years ago and they called it Luizi . Ferriere found it.the meteor was 0.6 of a mile long which is the length of the t to excel.it is difficult to find diffrent rock samples.Instead of the area being around a jungle it was around a savanna! There are ony 182 meteors in the planet Earth . The meteor's damage was 10 and a half miles long. It was first founded in 1919 by a German geologic reporter but, he wasn't that educated and didn't have the right tools to recongize what it was . In 2010 they found out it was safe to explore . Poachers still kill animals around the crater except for snakes .Even though it is a National Park ,Congo doesn't have a great police force and money to stop them.

This connects to what we learned in class because we learned that Congo has been in very brutal wars that cost a lot of money. So, they are still recovering . As you can see police aren't trained and aren't payed becuase they don't have money . Also they can't protect those National Parks.Congo got to be able to identify craters in 2010 but, a lot of other scientist had education for years.
